Our Story

St. Croix Tea began with a simple belief:

Tea should taste good, feel comforting, and invite you to slow down.

Our story is rooted along the St. Croix River, where conversation, creativity, and a shared love of simple pleasures first brought us together. Tea naturally became part of that rhythm — a pause in the day, a moment to connect, a small act of care.

When we started selling tea, we noticed something missing. Much of what we tasted felt thin or uninspiring — more like lightly flavored water than something you’d look forward to drinking. We knew there had to be better options, and we set out to find them.

How We Choose Our Teas

At St. Croix Tea, our focus is on flavor, balance, and enjoyment.

We work with trusted tea partners to source high-quality loose-leaf teas and blends, then develop our collection through tasting, refinement, and finishing. Some blends are enhanced or adapted in-house, while others are carefully selected because they already meet our standards.

Every tea we offer has been chosen because we genuinely enjoy drinking it ourselves.

Rather than chasing trends, we curate a collection of teas that feel approachable, comforting, and satisfying — teas that fit naturally into daily life and offer a moment of calm.

What You Can Expect

Our teas are:

  • thoughtfully sourced for quality and flavor

  • naturally flavored when flavoring is used

  • balanced, smooth, and easy to enjoy

  • simple to brew at home

Whether you’re new to loose-leaf tea or a longtime tea drinker, our goal is to help you find teas that fit your life — morning, afternoon, or evening.

A Small Business with Deep Roots

St. Croix Tea grew over the years through connecting with people face-to-face at farmers’ markets across western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota. Those conversations shaped how we think about tea: not as something complicated or exclusive, but as something welcoming and personal.

Today, while we’ve stepped back from weekly markets, that same care carries through everything we offer online. We’re still here to guide, suggest, and share what we’ve learned — just in a quieter way.

Our Philosophy

Tea doesn’t need to be complicated.

It doesn’t have to be trendy.

It just needs to be good.

We believe in tea as a moment of pause — a meaningful way to slow down, and enjoy where you are right now - one sip at a time.

Thank you for being here and for supporting a small, thoughtfully curated tea business.

“The Customer Service is top-notch!

She understands that to stand out as a small business, customer care is the way to go. Kelley really knows what she is doing with flavors. I was able to contact her and create my own blend. Plus, look at her website, it’s a work of art! I found St. Croix Tea at the farmer’s market. I had a tea I enjoyed that I could no longer find in stores. I asked Kelley if we could make something similar and add other flavors we thought would work. After a few emails and a few samples, we were able figure out MY OWN PERSONAL BLEND! If you are interested in trying it, it’s the Charles in Charge blend. I recommend ordering her Tea or talking to her to find what tea you would like. She can be the guide to help you find the right tea for you. She helped me find the exact tea I would like to drink and share with others!”

Amazing!

To say we are loving the teas would be an understatement. The look, smell, and taste are so beautifully balanced. The baked apple was so comforting; we took the spent “tea and fruit” and baked a vegan apple-oat tea bar. So not only a beautiful drink, but don’t waste a bit and bake! I can't wait to order more !!!

FYI to all you tea lovers out there!

St Croix Tea sells its outstanding teas at the Farmers Market.

Recently, I bought this cool tropical tea (think coconut) that makes a great iced tea!  I needed more for a Sister's weekend and couldn't make it to the market.  Kelley made a special delivery.  How's that for customer service??  Thanks, Kelley!  I've tried a few flavors... Rhubarb, Beach Blues, and  Sunrise.

Y'all should give them a try!
